Note to self: Don’t try to break Urijah Faber’s (pictured) jaw, otherwise bad things will happen. After getting taken down by Yuri Alcantara in the opening seconds of Saturday’s fight, Faber steamrolled the Brazilian to post a landslide unanimous decision victory.
After the contest, Faber said he got really mad because he thought Alcantara had broken his jaw in the opening minutes. That’s funny, and here I was thinking Faber got upset because Alcantara messed up his cornrows.
Faber is now unbeaten in his last 13 fights – if you were to take out his five losses in title bouts during that span, of course.
“UFC Fight Night: Shogun vs. Sonnen” took place inside TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts.

Holy ****. Chael Sonnen didn’t waste any time, taking down Shogun seconds into their main event fight, and after a usual Sonnen-smothering and grappling exchanges, Sonnen hopped on his butt and sunk in the deep guillotine to tap Shogun Rua.
Then he gets on the mic and calls out Wanderlei Silva. What a night, and we haven’t even talked about Overeem and Faber.
This isn't just another free t.v. card. The stakes are high for this one. The fans know that. And most importantly the fighters know that. No one ever wants attention for the wrongs reasons. Sometimes not making weight just isn't an option.
The only issue with today's weigh in for Fight Night 26 in Boston was the scale, or the guy operating it. Other than that everything...
