PLAYERS: Jose Aldo
Eleven years after Leonardo Santos (pictured) kicked off his mixed martial arts career, the welterweight can now officially call himself a UFC fighter. Santos dropped the opening round to William Patolino in the finals of “The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil 2,” but rallied to slap on an arm triangle choke to claim the tournament and six-figure UFC contract. Perhaps the best part of the scrap took place after when Santos thanked longtime friend and reigning UFC featherweight king Jose Aldo. Aldo had tears in his eyes as Santos gave his speech. Nobody has more genuine love for their brethren than the Brazilians. Ginasio Paulo Sarasate in Fortaleza, Ceara, Brazil hosted UFC on FUEL TV 10.
