What seemed like a certainty earlier in the day has once again become a befuddled mess.
This afternoon, many reports had reported saying that Oklahoma co-defensive coordinator Brent Venables was on his way to Clemson to become the defensive coordinator for the Tigers.
However, later in the evening, Venables shared information with multiple Oklahoma media members, saying nothing was final and that details were still being worked out.
What those details are for was unclear. That could refer to more money in his OU contract, his potential Clemson contract, his background check at Clemson, or something else entirely.
It’s unclear which direction Venables is leaning toward and it’s going to be a situation that is unclear until official announcements from the schools are released.
