The Kansas State Wildcats are the new number 1 team in the country. Yes, that’s right, Bill Snyder has his team ahead of everyone else. The quite coach who would rather avoid the spotlight that comes with being number 1 has proven that he can take a team to the top of the pile. Kansas State is closely followed by Oregon and then Notre Dame is a little behind the Ducks. But that’s not what’s most impressive in this poll. The SEC has 6 teams in the top 10 of the BCS standings. From number 4 to number 9 is nothing but SEC. The bad thing about it is that barring a loss by Notre Dame to USC, and a slip-up from Oregon or Kansas State, the best conference in the country will NOT be represented in the BCS championship game. This just screams playoff. It also screams a lot of angry people when 3 SEC teams are in the new playoff system.
