Martin Rennie keeps re-making his Whitecaps defense by signing Argentine centre back Martin Bonjour.

Quote: "Martin is a powerful, aggressive central defender who is good in the air and comfortable on the ball," Rennie said in a release. "He adds additional quality to our defensive side and brings plenty of South American top-flight experience." Bonjour, a native of Carhue, Argentina, started his professional career at home with Club Olimpo and then moved to Uruguay and Club Athletico Rentistas. He also played in Poland and Chile before a return to Uruguay where he scored five goals in 51 games.

He is 6-foot-3 and should give the Whitecaps an option for set pieces.
