The Houston Texans have released veteran linebacker Tim Dobbins today in yet another roster move. Dobbins has been an issue since OTAs when he did not show up but rather chose to stay in Tennessee to help renovate his home. This caused some question as to his dedication to the Texans this season.
Dobbins was active for three games this season before a shoulder injury sent him to be inactive for the last four games. He recorded no tackles while primarily working on special teams for the Texans this year. Dobbins came to Houston in 2011 and appeared in 29 games over the last two seasons with 6 starts at inside linebacker. He totaled 55 tackles with 1 interception over the two years, and he was also special teams captain for the team during those years.
The release of Dobbins puts the Texans roster with five open spots on the 53 man roster.
