Found June 12, 2013 on Awful Announcing:
I'm starting to notice a correlation with Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich and his in-game interviews.  It seems like the better the Spurs are doing, the less Pop wants to say.  With the Spurs trouncing the Heat in their Game 3 blowout, ESPN's Doris Burke asked her mandated two questions of Pop at the end of the 3rd quarter.  After a downright talkative performance earlier in the series, Pop's answers were less than forthcoming including an "I can't tell you that" when asked about the team's defense on LeBron James. This isn't a derisive no comment from Pop because he'd rather be standing in the middle of a geyser, but rather a no comment out of respect for Burke's detailed question.  That wasn't one Pop could give a yes or no or standard cliche and walk away.  That required some actual thinking! With Games 2 and 3 morphing into blowouts, it's becoming clear the most compettive battle in this series is Doris Burke vs Gregg Popovich.  The sideline reporter is at the top of her game in this clip and took her own 2-1 lead in the series last night. Pop: Foreign players work harder

Spurs coach Gregg Popovich believes that foreign players tend to work harder than American-born basketball players. Do you agree?

Metta World Peace creates Gregg Popovich hashtag on Twitter

Previously on That NBA Lottery Pick, we noted Lakers forward classic hamburger tweets from game one and game two of the 2013 NBA Finals. This time around, Metta decided to create a special hashtag for San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich called “#Popovichissosmart” and clearly, it’s the best hashtag that we here at That NBA Lottery Pick have seen in a long time. Below...

Gregg Popovich To Doris Burke: ‘I Can’t Tell You That’

Gregg Popovich, always providing us with a good laugh during his in-game interviews, was asked by sideline reporter Doris Burke prior to the fourth quarter of Game 3 what he called from his players on the defensive side of the ball and in particular, guarding LeBron James. Unwilling to give away his game-plan on national television, the Spurs coach responded, ‘I can’t tell you that.’

Gregg Popovich Continues To Give The Best Interviews

You have to give it to Doris Burke for going right into the lion’s den time after time. The latest was Game 3 of the NBA FInals and her subject was once again the always loquacious Gregg Popovich. [Bleacher Report] Article found on: Next Impulse Sports

Video: San Antonio Spurs set NBA Finals 3-point record in Game 3

The San Antonio Spurs responded to their Game 2 beatdown by distributing one of their own in Game 3. During the  second half of Game 3, the Miami Heat were lifeless as they watched the Spurs set an NBA Finals record for 3-point buckets with 16. The 113-77 thrashing was spearheaded by big nights from both Danny Green and Gary Neal. Green chalked up with 27 points while Neal contributed...

San Antonio again savors Spurs brining Finals home

The NBA Finals are back in San Antonio for the first time since 2007 - hardly a drought by any measure. Yet it still feels overdue to many in ''Military City USA,'' where the Spurs - helmed by Air Force graduate Gregg Popovich - are the only game in town. Fans say the Spurs have a particularly deep connection with their city. Game 3 is Tuesday night. The series...

Phenomenal GIF of Popovich and the 'Big 3'

So this is pretty awesome. The San Antonio Spurs "Big 3" of Tim Duncan, Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili and coach Gregg Popovich have been one of the best quartets  in the NBA leading the team to three NBA titles, great regular seasons, and deep playoff runs. And after 11 seasons together, they find themselves once again in the thick of things, fighting for another...

Gregg Popovich during NBA Finals interview: “I can’t tell you that”

“I think we played real solid defense” and “I can’t tell you that” were the two answers Gregg Popovich gave Doris Burke during an interview before the start of the 4th quarter of Game 2.

Gregg Popovich: American Players Don’t Work As Hard As Foreign Players

The San Antonio Spurs may be one of,  if not the most successful franchise in all of the NBA.  They also boast the largest collection of foreign based talent in the NBA. Tim Duncan (U.S. Islands),Tony Parker (France), Manu Ginobili (Argentina),Tiago Splitter (Brazil), Boris Diaw (France), Cory Joseph (Canada), Nando De Colo (France), Patty Mills (Australia) and Aron...

Gregg Popovich rips reporter who asks if he will ‘mail in’ Game 4 to rest Tony Parker

The San Antonio Spurs and Miami Heat are set to square off for Game 4 of the NBA Finals on Thursday night, and Tony Parker’s status remains in question. An MRI revealed earlier this week that Parker suffered a Grade 1 hamstring strain during Game 3, and he has been listed as day-to-day. Fortunately for [...]

Anthem singer returns to Finals despite racist tweets

Sebastien De La Cruz became famous last year because of his impressive performances on America's Got Talent. The 11-year-old mariachi singer was back in the headlines this week, not because of his outstanding rendition of the national anthem before Game 3 of the NBA Finals in San Antonio, but because of the slew of hateful and racist tweets that the young Spurs fan had to endure...

Encore! NBA crowd roars for 11-year-old mariachi

An 11-year-old Latino boy whose singing of the national anthem at the NBA Finals set off a barrage of racist tweets earned a roaring ovation in an encore performance Thursday night. Sebastien De La Cruz, a mariachi singer, was congratulated by San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich and Miami Heat coach Erik Spoelstra at midcourt afterward. His second act followed an outpouring...

Amazing then and now GIF of the San Antonio Spurs

It absolutely blows my mind to think that the San Antonio Spurs’ core players and coach once looked like that. Tony Parker once had a super-smooth face. Manu Ginobili used to have hair. Tim Duncan once rocked a ‘fro. Gregg Popovich had a sweet combover. How great would this GIF look if the Spurs somehow [...]
