Andrei Nazarov is a former NHL enforcer who is currently head coach of the KHL’s Vityaz team.  Needless to say, Nazarov is familiar with the rougher side of hockey, thanks to his time in the National Hockey League. So it wasn’t very surprising to see the Vityaz head coach going after fans in the stands with a hockey stick after being struck by a thrown object.  The incident occurred during the waning second of his team’s 3-2 loss to Dinamo Minsk, when things got heated between the two teams and the officials ended up handing out 156 minutes in penalties. Fans need to understand that no matter what happens on the ice, it is never OK to throw objects at players, refs or coaches.  Maybe the sight of a crazed Nazarov wielding a stick with a murderous look in his eye might help people remember this little fact.
