We may have found our bush league play of the week and it comes from the world of futbol. During a recent match between Manchester United and Swansea City, Swansea defender Ashley Williams drilled the ball directly into the back of Robin van Persie's dome after the United striker was fouled and hit the deck just outside of the box. Needless to say, van Persie didn't appreciate the blow to the head very much and proceeded to jump to his feet in outrage. United boss Alex Ferguson had this to say after the game: He could have been killed. I think the FA has got to look into it—irrespective of him getting a yellow card, he should be banned for a long time, because that was one of the most dangerous things I have seen on a football pitch in a long time. Absolutely deliberate. The whistle had gone, the game stopped and he has done that right in front of the referee. He could really have killed the lad.The two squads settled on a 1-1 draw, but I have a feeling there is still much to come out of this affair. Namely, a hefty penalty of some sort for Williams after such a classless move. Via Bleacher Report.
