Found August 21, 2013 on The Cardinal Connect:
Louisville sophomore forward Montrezl Harrell has had quite a summer. Trez earned a gold medal in July with the United States U19 Team in the FIBA World Championships. Just a week later he joined his team on a visit to the White House. Earlier this month, Harrell traveled to California with teammates Chris Jones and Russ Smith to participate in the Adidas Nations Camp. Unfortunately, Harrell hyper-extended his knees after just a couple of days at the camp and had to leave early. In the two days he was in attendance, Harrell was his usual self. This highlight video should get you excited for the season.

With that comes perks, such as being featured on the cover of Athlon Sports’ College Basketball preview. Matt Taliaferro, the creative director of Athlon Sports Tweeted out the cover photo on Thursday afternoon. You can expect Russ to receive...

Goodluck Okonoboh No Longer Considering Louisville

According to ESPN’s Adam Finkelstein, four-star big man, Goodluck Okonoboh, has trimmed his list to five. Rick Pitino and the Cards did not make the cut. Okonoboh is reportedly down to Florida, Duke, Indiana, Ohio State & UNLV, in no particular order. The Bullet Is Still Ripped

Former Louisville point guard Elisha Justice was a fan favorite during his two years with the Cardinal program. The Eastern Kentucky native was a hard working walk-on who contributed more than most expected. Between his freshman and sophomore seasons, “Bullet” became an internet sensation when he was voted as the 2011 Hottest Male Athlete by a website that no longer exists. Bullet...

Cliff Alexander, a 6-foot-9, 230-pound, five star prospect has maintained throughout the entire summer that he’ll take an official visit to Louisville in the fall. Charlie Strong fires up the UofL Marching Band

The better football programs usually have marching bands to match, and the University of Louisville is seeking greatness on both fronts. After an early morning practice Tuesday, Charlie Strong took his team over to Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium, not for still more conditioning or for special plays. No, he wanted his players to see the marching band at work. “What we sometimes...

A Few Notable Names No Longer On The Louisville Football Roster

With over 100 guys on the team, its not uncommon to see a few names disappear from college football rosters over the years. While nearly all of the contributors from Charlie Strong’s 2012 team are returning, there are a few names that are no longer on the roster. We can only assume that these guys are no longer members of the team. Jalen Harrington, Fullback/Tight End: Harrington...

Cardinals receiver aims to follow up 2012 breakout

Louisville receiver Damian Copeland had reason to smile after practicing for the first time in two weeks. The senior was held out of fall camp workouts as a precaution because of a sore left knee. But during that time, he remained active and spent a lot of time making mental notes about the ninth-ranked Cardinals' offense and marveling at the talent of the Cardinals' receiver...

Louisville Football: Injury Update

Charlie Strong and his staff don’t elaborate much when it comes to injuries. When a player is injured there usually isn’t a formal release or anything of that nature. Most of the time news leaks out about a player who may be banged up or the media just notices when certain players are held out of practice. With the Cards heading into their last two-a-day practice sessions on...

Louisville Football Position Preview: Wide Receivers

The Wide Receiver position at the University of Louisville is one of the most commonly known amongst fans, but interestingly enough has a few unknown components to how its depth chart will play out. Local product DeVante Parker and Damian “Honey Mustard” Copeland are your likely starters day one on the outside.  At this point, that is the only thing that seems to be certain...
