Even Notre Dame Basketball has jumped in on the alternate uniform craze. The Fighting Irish will wear Blackout uniforms in next Thursday’s game against the defending Champion Kentucky Wildcats. It’s only the second time ever that they will sport the all black uniforms. Former Notre Dame coach Ara Parseghian is being recognized for his contribution to the sport by the National College Football Awards Association.
Parseghian coached the Irish from 1964 to 1974, leading them to national championships in 1966 and 1973. The Irish hadn't had a winning season in the five years before he arrived and he posted a 95-17-4 record in 11 seasons.
