The Rangers have recalled forward Micheal Haley for tonight’s game against the Flyers. This is for one of two reasons: 1) Brad Richards cannot go tonight, or 2) Haley will replace Stu Bickel in the lineup to provide better skating without losing that edge.
In 56 games in the AHL with Connecticut this year, Haley has a line of 9-12-21 with 158 PIMs.
Ryan McDonagh earned the well deserved reputation of being warrior after last season's breakout year which saw him finish the regular season as a +25 player with 182 blocks while averaging 24:44 of ice time per game.
And I don't think there's a Rangers fan who will ever forget when McDonagh took this hit, which would have put most of us in the hospital, against the...
The Rangers website reports that Brad Richards did not practice the day after he was violently boarded by Patrick Kaleta.
However, in a piece of good news John Tortorella said that Richards will be fine and no one has been recalled from the Whale making it likely that Richards will play against the Islanders tomorrow night at MSG.
Arron Asham (back spasms) was also absent...
Rick Nash was having another Rick Nash type game as he electrified the MSG crowd everytime he had the puck on his stick. And for the second game since returning from injury he scored a goal. His first power play goal as a Rangers to give them a 2-1 lead...
Then in overtime it was almost all for not as Nash almost handed the Sabres the victory by doing this...
The New York Rangers, coming off a 4-1 home win against the Tampa Bay Lightning on Thursday hosted the streaking Buffalo Sabres, winners of three straight including a 4-3 shootout win at home yesterday afternoon against the New Jersey Devils. Both teams had little changed to their lineup, just the Buffalo Sabres who were without their [...]
Rick Nash had a goal and assist and also scored in the shootout to lead the New York Rangers to a 3-2 win over the Buffalo Sabres Sunday night.
Ryan Callahan also scored for New York in the shootout. Derek Stepan added a goal, and Henrik Lundqvist made 28 saves. New York has won two in a row.
Drew Stafford and Nathan Gerbe scored for Buffalo. Ryan Miller stopped 26 of 28 shots...
On Thursday night in their 4-1 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning, the New York Rangers fired 42 shots on goal and created offense by not being afraid to go to the net, by not being afraid to put pucks on net and lastly, by following the lead of one of their own players.
That player was power forward Rick Nash. Besides getting on the scoresheet with two points on one goal and one...
According to multiple sources, Mats Zuccarello's KHL team Metallurg was eliminated from the playoffs today, meaning he is available for the Rangers to sign.
It has been reported that Glen Sather is interested in bringing back Zuccarello who is still Rangers property and would not have to clear waivers before signing with the team.
Zuccarello's agents were in New York...
Buffalo Sabres goalie Ryan Miller had a rough outing on Sunday against the New York Rangers in the shootout. Miller is a very good goalie, but he and the Sabres have been struggling this year. During the shootout, Rick Nash and Ryan Callahan pretty much undressed him and the Sabres were handed their 14th loss (12 regulation, 2 OT) of the year. Might be time for Miller to work...

The Sabres made waves recently when they fired Lindy Ruff after 16 seasons as their head coach. Since then they’ve gone 3-2 under Ron Rolston. Under both coaches, the Sabres system is similar to what we’ve seen from the Flyers under Peter Laviolette, which is essentially two different looks.
The first look is the 2-1-2 forecheck, which the Rangers utilize as well. This is...
Tonight the Flyers and Sixers both face their bitter rivals. The Flyers head to Madison Square Garden to face Henrik Lundqvist and the New York Rangers. While the Sixers are home to tip off against the Boston Celtics.
The Flyers are coming off a solid win over the Ottawa Senators. This week will be a big, if not the biggest test for the Flyers in this shortened season. (The Orange...
