After Illinois took a 1-0 lead into the locker room, Kate McCusker's first career goal tied it for Indiana (5-6-1, 1-3 Big Ten) less than three minutes after halftime. But the Fighting Illini (7-4-1, 1-2-1 Big Ten) scored a trio of goals over the final 40 minutes to hand IU the 4-1 loss.

Illini Not Overconfident Despite 4-0 Start

The best thing about the Fighting Illini's 4-0 start is they realize they still have plenty of room to improve. There was no gloating this week in practice, only determination to work out the kinks prior to the start of the Big 10 season.

Quarterback Nathan Scheelhaase scored a 1-yard touchdown with 13 seconds left Saturday to lead No. 24 Illinois to a 38-35 comeback win over Northwestern. The sophomore QB threw for a career-high 391 yards and three touchdowns for the Illini (5-0, 1-0). All three TD passes went to A.J. Jenkins, who had 12 catches for a school-record 268 yards.

Illinois drove 69 yards in the final minute to remain perfect with a 38-35 win over Northwestern. Wide receiver A.J. Jenkins had a school-record 269 yards and three touchdowns.

Wildcats Fail To Finish

Holding an 18-point lead midway through the third quarter, it seemed Northwestern was in a great position to win back the Land of Lincoln Trophy. Instead, Illinois had other plans.
