Former Washington State offensive coordinator Todd Sturdy is the new wide receivers coach and passing game coordinator at Iowa State.
Sturdy, a native of Tipton, Iowa, previously spent 12 seasons as the head coach at St. Ambrose University in Davenport. He was the offensive coordinator at Eastern Washington in 2007 before spending the past four seasons with the Cougars.

THE SECOND HALF of the Cougars' Pac-12 slate just got a whole lot tougher. Guard Faisal Aden, in the Pac-12's top ten scorers, suffered a left anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tear in the first half against Arizona this past Thursday. He will miss the remainder of the season.
DEPTH AT GUARD did not seem to be an issue for Washington State -- until this week. In addition to losing senior Faisal Aden, who suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee Thursday at Arizona, coach Ken Bone said during his Tuesday teleconference that the Cougars could be without another backcourt player for the remainder of the season when they host USC at 7:05 p.m. Thursday.
