Washington Wizards point guard John Wall and coach Randy Wittman got in each other's faces. Then, after Wittman momentarily walked away, they got in each other's faces again. Whatever was said during that third-quarter timeout Wednesday night worked. Wall had 23 points and 10 assists, and the Wizards beat the Milwaukee Bucks 106-93. The exchange came as Washington was blowing a 20-point, second-half lead, but Wall rallied with eight fourth-quarter points to hold off the Bucks. ''Oh, that's coaching. C'mon,'' Wittman said emphatically. ''I love that.'' Wall said the dispute centered around how the Wizards defended Ersan Ilyasova, who finished with 21 points and 12 rebounds. ''Just us being both competitive and being on different pages,'' Wall said. ''But we talked about it, and we did a great job in the fourth quarter of keeping Ilyasova from getting hot.'' As Martell Webster said of Wall, '...

John Wall: I Deserve a Max Contract

Former number 1 overall pick John Wall has had an up and down career so far. He’s battled injuries and the Wizards for the most part have been an underwhelming team during the John Wall era. Perhaps a slap in the face for the hopes the franchise had for him when they decided to take [...]

Wizards 106, Bucks 93

John Wall had 23 points and 10 assists, and the Washington Wizards beat the Milwaukee Bucks 106-93 Wednesday night. Wall and Wizards coach Randy Wittman appeared to exchange unpleasant words during a timeout late in the third quarter, but Wall rallied with eight fourth-quarter points to hold off the Bucks' comeback. It was Wall's seventh double-double of the season. He...

John Wall believes he deserves a max contract, thinks he’s a great shooter

When the Washington Wizards selected John Wall with the first overall pick in the 2010 draft, they thought they were getting a player who could put the team on his back and become a game-changer. Wall is only three seasons into his NBA career, but that has yet to happen. The former Kentucky Wildcat has averaged a decent 16 points and eight assists per game over his young career,...

John Wall Says His Shooting ‘Sweet Spot’ is ‘Everywhere’ on Court, Thinks He Deserves Maximum Contract

John Wall is known as a confident person, probably stemming from his belief that he can teach anyone and everyone how to Dougie. Wall’s confidence extends to the basketball court, too, which is good, since that is where he makes his living. The Wizards point guard made a number of bold statements in an interesting interview with Zach Lowe of Grantland. One of those statements —...

Wizards John Wall Thinks he’s Deserves a Max Contract

If John Wall deserves a max contract, than I do too. For the most part, professional athletes are blessed and cursed, with an inordinate level of confidence bordering delusion that arguably is the reason for them reaching the highest level of their sport. In their mind their abilities have no limits and drawing logically conclusions is optional. In a lot of cases, this mentality...

Hornets unable to slow Wall in loss to Wizards

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Heard the one about the point guard who can't shoot? That's supposed to be John Wall. Helpless from long range for so long, the Washington Wizards point guard had his best shooting game as a pro Friday night, a night so successful that the names Larry Bird, Jim Furyk and Jason Kidd were kicked around when discussing what went right. In fact, Wall was...

The Upcoming Off-season Will Be Key for the Washington Wizards

Next year will be make-or-break for the Wizards After last night’s 95-90 loss at the hands of the Cleveland Cavaliers that saw the Wizards score 33 first quarter points and jump out to a 13 point lead, then only 32 points over the next 24 minutes, I immediately starting thinking about the off-season. While it was only a five point loss, it came at the hands of the Cavs who were...
