Golden State Warriors shooting guard Monta Ellis had to leave Tuesday night's win over Cleveland after taking a nasty elbow to his face from Cavaliers forward Anderson Varejao. Ellis’ nose was cut but not broken after taking the blow. That’s good news for the Warriors, who are already missing point guard Stephen Curry. He's been out of the lineup with an ankle injury since Jan. 4.Ellis is averaging 22.6 points and 7.3 assists in 12 contests this season for the Warriors.

Post-Ellis (Warriors 105, Cavs 95)

The Warriors 105-95 road victory over an upstart Cleveland team was a nice continuation of an adjustment that began in the win against Detroit.  The Warriors won this game without Monta Ellis making a meaningful offensive contribution — let alone dominating the ball.  They didn’t stand around waiting for Ellis to produce and Ellis, to [...]

Game 13: Warriors At Cavs, Or Watching Out For Monta Ellis

As Monta Ellis goes, so go his Golden State Warriors (4-8). He's their best player, maybe the most underrated offensive player in the Association overall, and he will need to be contained by the Cavaliers tonight. He's averaging 24 points and almost 8 assists per game through these first twelve on forty percent shooting from the floor, and staying in front of Ellis to make...

Checking In With Monta Ellis After Warriors Beat Cavs 105-95

Before the game I thought that if Monta Ellis could be contained the Cavaliers would have a chance to win. He kinda was, the Cavs did have that chance in the 4th quarter, but in the end they still lost. Monta had a rough night shooting, scored only half of what he averages per game (12 pts) on 2 of 12 shooting, but the Warriors won anyways. The reasons they did so could be attributed...

Nate Rob Set To Regulate

Monta Ellis played 32 minutes. The rest was spent nursing his broke-ass face that became broke after Anderson Varejao elbowed it into a million pieces. It was heinous. I puked a little. Babies were crying in the distance. Grandma said a prayer. Still, the cartilage didn’t snap or break or whatever nose-cartilage does when it does something it’s not supposed to do. He...

Day 25 of 124: One Painful Season

Line of the Night: Monta Ellis (2.72) scored 30 points in a loss to the Nets, adding 5 assists and a category-winning 6 steals in 37 minutes on the court. If you were presented with a decision between drafting Monta Ellis and Stephen Curry before the start of the season, who would have thought that Ellis would have been the correct answer? Honorable Mentions: Here is something you...

Time for Krypo-Nate?

Entering the season without an NBA team to call home, and then finding himself on a team chalk full of undersized guards, Nate Robinson didn’t figure to see much time on the court. However, now with Stephen Curry injured, yet again, and Monta Ellis leaving tonight’s game after an elbow to the face, it was Krypto-Nate to the rescue. After seeing 30-plus minutes on the...
