Jimmy Dugan, Tom Hanks' character in the classic baseball movie "A League of Their Own," said it best...there's no crying in baseball.
But for Texas Rangers manager Ron Washington, he'd like to make an exception to that rule today.
On Sunday, the Rangers officially traded the face of the franchise, Michael Young, to the Philadelphia Phillies for Josh Lindblom and Lisalverto Bonilla.
The impact of the loss of young is not lost on Washington.
"This is a very, very tough situation," Washington said, reports The Dallas Morning News. "Michael's been my go-to guy since I've been here. He's done a lot in the form of leadership in the clubhouse, on the field and in the community. That's something we'll sorely miss.
"He's such a professional. If there was crying in baseball, I guess I'd cry."
Young has been a cornerstone piece for Washington since his arrival in 2007.
