The #14 rated Minnesota Gophers men’s hockey team drops the puck on their final season of WCHA play this weekend as they travel to Duluth to play the defending national champion #9  ranked Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs. The Gophers enter this weekend coming off a sweep against the woeful Sacred Heart Pioneers last weekend. The Bulldogs are coming off a split against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. I preview this weekend series with an interview with Bulldogs junior defenseman (and fellow Brainerd, Minnesota graduate) Drew Olson. Olson, who was a fourth-round pick of the Columbus Blue Jackets in 2008, played in 34 games netting one goal and three assists for the national champion Bulldogs in the 2010-11 season. Offensively, the Bulldogs are led by sophomore winger J.T. Brown (16 goals, 21 assists in 2010-11) and senior center Jack Connolly (46 goals and 93 assists in his three plus year career).
