Week 7 had some notable injuries as fantasy football stars such as Reggie Wayne, Jermichael Finley, Jay Cutler, Doug Martin and Arian Foster all went down with injury. These injuries could hurt or help your fantasy team but if you have these players here is some advice. Jay Cutler Injury: Torn groin muscle, out 4 Weeks Require Surgery: No Fantasy Impact: Cutler began the year as a backup but emerged as a fantasy starter. Quarterback Josh McCown will step in to replace Cutler and looked pretty good throwing one touchdown and had no turnovers. This could effect Alshon Jeffery’s fantasy impact as Cutler looked to Jeffery as a reliable target. Jeffery’s numbers could go down. Reggie Wayne Injury: Torn ACL, out for the Season Require Surgery: Yes Fantasy Impact: Reggie Wayne is lost for the season and makes a huge impact to your team. Wayne had averaged 13.2 yards per catch and has been one of Andrew Luck’s favorite targets. Now done for the season, look for wide receivers Darrius Heyward-Bey and T.Y. Hilton to see an increase in targets. I would advise to trade for a receiver or pick up Heyward-Bey as the Colts’ offense will still be deadly. Doug Martin Injury: Torn labrum in left shoulder, out indefinitely Require Surgery: Maybe Fantasy Impact: With Martin out indefinitely and his team winless so far, there is no rush for Martin to come back. His backup, Mike James, is a good pickup as he will see most of the carriers. Jermichael Finley Injury: Spinal Cord bruise Require Surgery: No Fantasy Impact: Finley could be out for several weeks but I would not suggest picking up Andrew Quarless. He will be in for blocking purposes and with James Jones coming back look for the Packers to run the ball, throw it mainly to receivers, and not use Quarless in the aerial attack. Arian Foster Injury: Hamstring Require Surgery: No Fantasy Impact: Ben Tate is a good running back to pick up or trade for because he will carry the load for Foster until he returns. Tate will get close to all the touches with a struggling pass game of the Texans. Read more rumors, news and opinion on our Fantasy Football page
