Craig James Expected Leach Fired AND Apology
While sitting in an unlocked media room adjacent to a Texas Tech practice field on December 19, 2009, Adam James sent his father, ESPN announcer Craig James, a series of text messages.
The text messages, sent while practice was underway on a 66-degree day in Lubbock, included the following:

Mike Leach's 'Wylie' search for wideouts
IT DOESN’T RANK up there with May 2002, when Mike Price extended scholarship offers to seven players from the same school (Long Beach Poly) in one day. Jackson Settles Academic Concerns, Visits OSU
Not trying to overhype a late recruiting visit and possible signee, but remember in 2000 when then Texas Tech coach Mike Leach brought in an undersized slot receiver from Heritage Hall in Oklahoma City and gave him a scholarship. This was after so many of the Big 12 coaches said Wes Welker was too slow. Coaches have not said that about Orlando (Oak Ridge), Fla., slot receiver Rayshawn Jackson.
Spring Practice QB Competition in Pullman
Mike Leach said Connor Halliday, a freshman last season who threw for 960 yards and nine touchdowns in four games, will get a chance to beat out Jeff Tuel when the WSU Cougars begin spring practices next month.
Quote:
Asked if Tuel is the clear-cut No. 1 quarterback, Leach said, I look for him and Halliday to battle it out in the spring.
