At this time last year, we were introduced to Bryce Harper as a Major League Baseball player. Harper took the league by storm, winning the NL Rookie of the Year quite easily. In his first calendar year in the majors, Harper has shown an amazing amount of raw power combined with an unbelievable desire to play the game hard. On ESPN’s “Baseball Tonight” this afternoon, one of the analysts said that Harper had been clocked at under 4 seconds to first base on a routine ground out, which can only mean one thing: absolute hustle, something not always seen out of today’s superstars. Bryce Harper has an intriguing and uncommon combination of power and speed. Last season, Harper was absolutely phenomenal. He had a .270 batting average and a .340 on-base percentage with 22 home runs and an amazing 9 triples. In addition to his batting prowess, Harper played a great centerfield even though it was the first year he played mainly centerfield in his life. In over 715 innings in centerfield, he co...

Nationals Fans Want To Get Rid Of ‘The Wave’ Bryce Harper Isn’t Pleased

Nationals fans are embroiled in a civil war of sorts over the existence of the wave. To be or not to be? While the most vocal of the bunch are of the anti-wave faction–including many Nats players, Bryce Harper has come to the support of those who are pro wave on twitter  Personally, I’m pretty neutral on the issue. here’s this for a revolutionary idea–if you don...

200TH PITCHING WIN, TOO

Bryce Harper assists on Tim Hudson's homer

Tuesday night, Tim Hudson became just the third active pitcher (Andy Pettitte and Roy Halladay) to reach 200 victories.  And dude did it in style. The righty scattered three hits over seven stellar innings and blasted his third career home run (you can credit Bryce Harper with the assist) while powering the Atlanta Braves to an 8-1 victory over the Washington Nationals. "...

Bryce Harper Has Ball Bounce Off Glove, Giving Tim Hudson First Home Run of Season (Video)

Bryce Harper should be credited with an assist on Tim Hudson‘s home run Tuesday night.  In the fifth inning of the Nationals-Braves game, Harper nearly made a highlight-reel catch on a fly ball off the bat of Atlanta’s starting pitcher. But instead of hauling it in, the ball bounced off the young outfielder’s glove and over the right-field fence.  It’s embarrassing enough...

Blackhawks Had ‘Tremendous Amount of Sex’ This Year, CSN Chicago’s Susannah Collins Says On Air (Video)

Freudian slip? No joke. CSN Chicago’s Susannah Collins had the most unfortunate of on-screen slipups Tuesday night while reporting about the Blackhawks. Collins, channeling the fervor of the Stanley Cup playoffs beginning, jumped into her inside scoop on the hometown team — and then uttered a phrase that hockey fans likely found far more interesting. Collins was trying to explain...

Bryce Harper and Justin Upton: An Early Season Comparison

Bryce Harper and Justin Upton will face each other again starting on Monday, this time in Atlanta, and Harper hopes that his team has a much better result than the three-game sweep they were handed in DC just a couple weeks ago. Since then, the comparisons between the two players have become even more frequent as neither have shown signs of their performance slowing down. But when...

Bryce Harper has ball go off glove, gives Tim Hudson a home run (Video)

Your browser does not support iframes. Atlanta Braves pitcher Tim Hudson has only three home runs in his career, and his most recent big fly may not have made its way into the stands without a little help from Washington Nationals star Bryce Harper. During the bottom of the fifth inning on Tuesday night, the 37-year-old Hudson proved that he still has the strength to send a ball...

Votto says Nats' Harper can't fail

The Reds' Joey Votto called me over to his locker on Friday. He had something he wanted to say. "Bryce Harper is pretty good," Votto said, smiling. Initially, as I reported on the MLB on Fox pre-game show Saturday , I thought Votto was kidding. But he wasn't, not at all. The quote you're about to read about Harper is not from some media myth-maker, but one...

Bryce Harper gifts Tim Hudson a home run

In the bottom of the fifth inning of Tuesday's Nationals-Braves game, Atlanta pitcher Tim Hudson hit a ball to deep right field. Washington right fielder Bryce Harper went back on the ball, leapt up to make the catch, and inadvertently knocked it over the fence, giving Hudson his first home run of the season and the third of his career. Hudson's homer pushed Atlanta's...

Stephen Strasburg: ‘I’m not missing my next start’

The opener of the four-game series between the N.L East-leading Atlanta Braves and the second place Washington Nationals, left baseball fans in the nation’s capital with more than just frustration due to the 3-2 loss at the hands of the Braves on Monday night.
