I have argued that if Frank Francisco is healthy that he should be the closer for this team. He was dominant before the shoulder injury sidelined him and deserves a chance to get his job back.
But right now, C.J. Wilson should be this team's closer. Maybe you have Wilson do it until the All-Star break or shortly thereafter until you're confident that Francisco is OK. Francisco's velocity was fine and he had movement on his pitches. What was missing was command. Once he gets that, I think the Rangers can return to the bullpen setup they had earlier in the season.
Wilson, though, continues to shine. He had a 2.38 ERA in June, which was basically one rough game, and has shown an ability to get the tough hitters out at critical times. He gave up a leadoff single in the eighth on Wednesday and then struck out the side. Yes, it was the bottom of the order, but Wilson has also handled the tough part of the lineup.
