Why Didn't The Eagles Build A Domed Stadium?

Posted September 24, 2012

You know as a I was watching the recent Eagles Cardinals game I couldn't help but notice how loud it seemed in that stadium. How difficult it was for our players to hear Mike Vick. It was quite troubling to say the least. Then I thought about the Linc and how despite how packed that place can get it never seems to get as loud as even the old VET used to. I know people for a time blamed this on a change in the groups of people now buying seats, but it seems more to it than that. The acoustics of the place seem wrong and let's face it the architecture looks like some kid was playing with his LEGO blocks and suddenly ran out. I think of what a dome could mean for the Eagles. That place would get loud. REAL LOUD and with our rowdy fans it would be hard for any team to come in there and do much winning unlike how the Linc seems to be an away games at times since it's been opened. Philadelphia would be able to host a Super Bowl instead of some of these nubby cities like Indianapolis and Minnesota. I don't know when they may decide to build a new stadium in Philly, but judging how they are already looking to find ways to add more seats in the Linc now they may start considering one in the not so distant future. If by some chance the city has to pay for some of that construction I hope they would request a Domed Stadium.
