Found October 17, 2013 on Nation Orange:
Here’s something we don’t need to tell you: the San Francisco Giants need a left fielder before 2014. They need one, and they need one badly. Gregor Blanco won’t cut it (though he makes a great fourth outfielder); Brett Pill won’t cut it (though he makes a solid pinch-hitter); and Juan Perez won’t cut it (though he may in the future). In fact, the only Giant on the roster that could cut it is Brandon Belt . . . and then we would need a new first baseman. Unfortunately, there’s not exactly a festival of outfielders available in free agency. The two biggest names – now that Hunter Pence has been wrapped up – are Shin Soo-Choo and Jacoby Ellsbury. And while we’d absolutely love to get our orange and black paws on one of those two, it’s pretty unlikely that Brian Sabean dips that deep into the company wallet. Next! Well . . uhhh . . . for better or for worse, next is Carlos Beltran. Yup, that Carlos Beltran. The Carlos Beltran that the Giants traded star pitching pr...
