The West Virginia rifle team edged out strong opposition in TCU and Kentucky in the NCAA Championships this weekend, and at the end of the day, WVU won a national-best 15th National Championship. On the first day of action, West Virginia was led by senior smallbore champion Petra Zublasing. The Mountaineers scored a 4679 in the final standings, while Kentucky (4670), TCU (4664) and Alaska (4661) finished in the second, third and fourth, respectively. For as tough as the year has been for West Virginia, a 15th National Championship in rifle is something WVU fans can feel proud of. Congratulations @wvurifle on winning the 2013 NCAA Championship! #HailWV — WVU Sports (@WVUSportsBuzz) March 9, 2013
