April was a good month for Mariano Rivera and, by extension, the New York Yankees. Rivera set a personal record for saves in the month with nine. He added to that total last night as the team closed out the month with their 16th win of the season. In honor of his 10 saves, let's look back at the 10 biggest Yankee highlights for April 2013 (in no particular order):10- Four April...

Sure he retired last December, but, according to the New York Post, that isn't stopping the New York Yankees from offering Hideki Matsui a contract.
I'll let you make all the Yankees jokes, but, honestly, the team inking the former slugger to a one-day deal so he can ceremoniously "retire" in pinstripes is actually pretty cool.

Well, Hideki Matsui will be returning to the Yankees.
For one day.
Plans are in the works for the Yankees to sign Matsui to a one-day contract so he can retire as a Yankee, according to George King of the New York Post. Matsui originally announced his retirement from baseball back in December.
Signed prior to the 2003 season, Matsui quickly became a fan favorite. Over his seven years...
The New York Yankees are inching closer to getting two of their big bats back in the lineup. When that happens, who knows where this team can go considering what it has done in the face of such injury adversity. YES Network finally got around to putting together and airing a “Yankeeography’’ featuring Gene Michael.
Perhaps I’m a bit prejudiced about the production, but I think it is one of the best this outstanding series has aired.

Trying to post victories in each of his first four starts for the first time, Pettitte...
