Every morning, we compile the links of the day and dump them here... highlighting the big storyline. Because there's nothing quite as satisfying as a good morning dump. “This past week, we pretty much have three or four wins coming from behind,” Ortiz said. “That tells you this is a team, doesn’t matter what the situation is, we’re going to fight through it. We’re going to try to stay on top of our game and come back and make things happen.” Ortiz recorded four singles and a walk in five plate appearances before being replaced by a pinch hitter in the ninth with the game well in hand. He was on base when Jonny Gomes blew open the game with a three-run, pinch-hit homer in a five-run sixth, and didn’t lose his composure when four passed balls in the first inning helped the Astros build a 5-0 lead after two. “We tried to play the game and tried not to give up until the game is over,” Ortiz said. “Things started kind of crazy, but we keep on playing through it. There are a lot of good things on around here. You guys pretty much know all of them. I think we’ve got guys coming in hungry every day and we try to make things happen.” Ortiz really likes Sox hunger We can all see the hunger now. After being shutout by the worst team in the league and seeing Ryan Lavarnway struggle to catch Stephen Wright's knuckleball, it looked like this was going to be a LONGGGGG night.  But this team man.  They didn't just fight through it, they annihilated them. Fifteen runs?! Back-to-back five run innings?! I know that it's the Astros and they're built like a glorified minor league team but it's not like they just squeaked out a victory. This team doesn't let anything rattle them, whether it's a huge deficit early or their opponents taking the lead late, as long as this team has outs remaining, there's a chance to win this game. And Ortiz is the person to notice what makes this team so damn special. His tenure & legacy is being a key cog on two of the best teams in team history. He knows that in order to win that it involves the right group of guys and he feels that the 2013 team has them. If you're still hesitant on joining the bandwagon because you don't want recent history to repeat itself, you're missing out.  Rest of the Links: Globe: Sox bats break out | Wild night in every way | Wrong time for Wright | Sox match last season's win total | Herald: Lavarnway turns rough night around | Bogaerts an easy call | Wright stuff?
