Black and Gold Forever:
Zoltan Mesko was brought in right before the start of the season and he replaced Drew Butler, and many thought the move would be an upgrade.
However, it appears that after some weak punting efforts, and a couple of errors in the Raiders game, that the Steelers may look to undue the Mesko-for-Butler move that they made.
Mesko has only averaged 42.4 yards per punt, and while that indicator is not that useful given that part of a punter's job is to not just punt it long, but to also punt with accuracy, Mesko has also only landed two punts within the opponent's twenty yard line. The bobbled snap against the Raiders that led to a partially blocked kick may have been the final straw.
David Todd from 970 ESPN Pittsburgh states:
I don't expect Zoltan Mesko to be the #Steelers punter on Sunday.
That would most likely mean a cut, as there is little use for two punters on one team. There have been no definitive moves yet, but it would certainly not be ...

Former Patriot punter and former Most Interesting Man in the NFL award winner, Zoltan Mesko, was involved in some punter controversy in training camp. Rookie Ryan Allen outperformed him, and allowed the team to save $1 million by letting him go. Many fans were a bit upset, but Allen was performed great in his rookie season and it hasn't been much of a topic since.

BY NICK ST. DENISZoltan Mesko was pretty good as the New England Patriots' punter. To the surprise of exactly nobody, the Pittsburgh Steelers elected yesterday to waive punter Zoltan Mesko after seven games, replacing him with veteran free agent punter Mat McBriar, hoping to punt on their recent special teams woes.

The Steelers waived punter Zoltan Mesko on Tuesday, after he had been inconsistent since being signed before the start of the regular season.
Mesko was signed on Sept. 2 following his release by the New England Patriots, and the Steelers in turn released second-year punter Drew Butler. Mesko ranked 16th in the AFC and 31st in the NFL among punters with a 36.7-yard net average. He...
The illegal touching called on Pittsburgh Steelers defensive back Antwon Blake following the second quarter punt by Zoltan Mesko against the Oakland Raiders was certainly a big play in the game and a few people have asked me if I could make an animated gif of it.
I have done just that and have watched it for on loop for nearly five minutes. I think it is clear that the ball changes...

What was the worst game that the Pittsburgh Steelers have had in recent memory on special teams in which the opposing team did not score a touchdown? Was it this one? If you said yes, I would not put up much of an argument.
Some of the mistakes were obvious—glaring, even.
Kicker Shaun Suisham, who entered the afternoon coming off a game-winner from beyond 40 and...
