While the team and I were in San Diego preparing to play the Chargers I took some time out of the weekend to visit a Spinal Cord Rehabilitation Center called, Project Walk with my friend, Frankie. Frankie is 21 and was paralyzed in a dirt bike accident on October 28th, 2007 and has recently moved to San Diego to rehab at Project Walk on a regular basis. Frankie hasn't stopped believing and is pushing himself each and everyday to regain feeling and walk again. He has become a hero of mine and I am going to be there by his side each step of the way believing with him and pushing him.

As many of you know, I was raised by my grandmother. I was fortunate enough this summer, to find a charity that focuses on grandparents raising their grandchildren. Over the past few months, I have been spending time with the grandparents and grandchildren in this organization acting as a mentor and a friend.

This past Sunday, I invited 10 children from the group to join me at our football game vs the Titans. We might not have won the game, but these kids won my heart. The kids were on the sideline during pre-game, cheering "The Show" on. After the game, I met with the kids and signed some autographs and then we had a serious talk where I spoke to them about respecting their elders and to never give up because better days will come.

I see myself in those children and I remember when I was in their shoes. I remember looking up to athletes as I was growing up and they were that force that pushed me to become who I am today. I only hope that I will be a positive force in the kids' in my Bowe's Bunch lives' and push them to strive for something greater than they could ever imagine.

Today is Tuesday, our day off and my mind is in a mellow state...

Good things come to those who wait.

Patience is best learned by practice.

Being my second year in the NFL, I have learned that this game we like to call football is all about time and opportunities. The 3 T's that I am living by right now are: Time, Technique & Teaching. I continue to strive everyday to make myself better both on and off the field and patience is the underlying reason why I am able to continue on and get stronger.

I know right now people are questioning the Kansas City Chiefs and our ability to win a football game. Looking back to last year, the Giants started 0-2 and ended up going to the playoffs and then winning the Superbowl. That is what we as a team are thinking. We have a young team, the youngest in the NFL, and it takes time to mold and grow together. All of our true fans out there, just stick with us and I promise you at the end of the season the outcome will be well deserved.

Catching up with my fans...

Man does it feel good back back! We played our first pre season game last night in Chicago and it felt real good being back on that field. Even though I only played for 2 series, it made me hungry. I can't wait till next Saturday to be back in KC in front of our fans doing what we do best! We have a lot of young faces on the team who are going to be the future of the Chiefs and I am proud to line up next to each one of them.

If you are coming to the game next weekend, make sure to come early, find a good seat, get your snack and enjoy "The Show"!

We have been in training camp for a little over a week and what we all know and realize is the time is the make or break you time. The days are hot and practices are no joke. It has been a hard and tiring week but the team looks good and we are working hard as a unit to make things happen. My second NFL Training Camp is going well and we are ready to make moves.

Throughout my football career, I have learned that I have to take this opportunity that God has blessed me with and run with it. I am determined now more than ever to succeed and help my team push forward and win and always perform as one. I am excited about the season and about the future.
