Showtime kicked off its 2014 schedule of Saturday telecasts from our nation’s capital with a doubleheader show as Jermell Charlo and hometown boy Lamont Peterson both scored impressive wins in their fights and answered several questions along the way. In the case of Jermell Charlo, he was facing the toughest test to date in his career as he took on well traveled Gabriel Rosado in a 10 Round junior middleweight fight.
It was a fight which saw Rosado try to turn it into a brawl by throwing many punches in the fight and seeing if he could engage Charlo in a slugfest. Yet Jermell Charlo who up to this point has been overshadowed by twin brother Jermall in terms of name recognition made his name for himself on Saturday night as he was able to stave off Rosado’s attempts at turning the fight into a slugfest but was able to out box and dominate Rosado through the 10 Rounds.
