The mega-fight we have all been wanting to see for years between Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather, Jr. may never happen now.  Rapper 50 cent, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, created a business venture to do some promoting in boxing.  This promotional company goes by the name of “TMT Promotions” with the TMT standing for The Money Team.  This was originally a joint venture between 50 Cent and Mayweather, who were best friends.  As of late, their friendship has become distant.  With 50 Cent being a playmaker in making the mega-fight, boxing fans around the world were excited.  With that strained relationship between the rapper and Mayweather, we may never see that fight.

In an awkward tale of events, USA Today reports that Filipino boxer Manny Pacquiao will be teaming up with TMT Promotions.  Pacquiao’s advisor stated,

50 Cent and I have been talking now for maybe the last two months.  They approached us with the idea to form a promotional company.  Initially it was going to be 50 Cent, Manny and Floyd.  But right now, I don’t think Floyd is going to be a part of it.

Whether 50 Cent is ”homie-hopping”, business is business.  Pacquiao has always been interested in the music and entertainment business and 50 Cent can provide him just that.  On the other hand, fans just really want to see Pacquiao and Mayweather in the ring.
