Usually we start the week’s boxing schedule off with a random, non-boxing piece of media from the internet, but the above Joe Louis vs. Max Schmeling program was too cool not to feature. I guess that means we can jump right into the week’s fights, since we’re already talking boxing. The main event is the HBO pay-per-view headlined by welterweights Tim Bradley and Juan Manuel Marquez, which has an interesting, if not fully PPV-worthy undercard. Then there are other fights, featuring the likes of Jessie Vargas and Jermell Charlo. Juan Manuel Marquez vs. Timothy Bradley, Saturday, HBO PPV, Las Vegas. As always, Tim Starks will be along with a full and nuanced preview of the week’s biggest fight later in said week. That allows me to be neither full nor nuanced in my prediction. Basically JMM (55-6-1, 40 KO) brutally knocks Bradley (30-0, 12 KO) out in the late rounds after the whirlwind from Palm Springs has some early success. The main undercard fight (which we will dub the b...

Bradley braces for tough Marquez

But after Tim Bradley won a controversial decision over Manny Pacquiao on June 9, 2012, there was a feeling Bradley should fight the Filipino superstar again. The opportunity was there, but Bradley, an undefeated 30-year-old California native, chose a different route and decided to defend...

Bradley vs. Marquez: BC’s Prediction

Which force is more deadly, a desert storm or a stick of dynamite? Tim Bradley and Juan Manuel Marquez, both veterans of foreign wars, enter the ring Saturday night at the Thomas and Mack Center like soldiers returning to active duty. Juan Manuel Marquez seeks firefight, while speed, athleticism are key for Timothy Bradley

Present at the Timothy “Desert Storm” Bradley-Ruslan Provodnikov tilt, it was one of the more exciting contests I can remember covering. Exciting especially for a smattering of Provodnikov fans at the various moments the underdog Russian had WBO welterweight champion Bradley (30-0, 12 KO’s) dazed and confused, seemingly one solid punch away from finishing matters.

Timothy Bradley vs. Juan Manuel Marquez-press conference highlights

What professionals Timothy Bradley and Juan Manuel Marquez are. In a age in which trash talk, hype and drama rule the day both fighters are a example that mutual respect by far leaves a lasting impression on people. Though the absence of all this in the pre-fight build up has made this fight go under the radar so to say, it does go to show you that guys like this still exist in the...

In an interview today Marquez gave Bradley kudos for his speed in the ring but then followed it up by saying that he has no power.
