I'll tell you up front that the fellow in the white and orange turned out to be fine and walked off the field under his own power. That way, you don't have to be mortified. That's Korey Banks of the British Columbia Lions with the kamikaze coverage into the post. He was chasing Wayne Dressler of the Saskatchewan Roughriders, who trailed 42-5 with 1:09 to play. Why go after the ball like that in such a meaningless situation? Said Banks after the game, "I play for pride. Why give them the ball?" I don't know, because there's an unforgiving goal post lodged in the middle of the field? And why is that goal post lodged where it is? Well, that's just how they do things in Canada. In the NFL, the field goal post(s) used to be at the goal line, but for safety reasons, was moved to the back of the endzone in 1974. In Canada, though, the endzone is 20 yards deep, which would make many field goal attempts prohibitively long. At least they're well-padded. Way to hustle, Korey Banks. Gracias, Bob's
