Texas State defeated top-ranked Texas in what was a very chippy game on Wednesday night, and it ended with one of the most emphatic “Horns Down” gestures you will ever see.

Texas State closer Tristan Stivors, who has been lights out with a sub-1.00 ERA this season, struck out Texas first baseman Ivan Melendez in the bottom of the ninth inning to finish off a 6-4 win for the Bobcats. Stivors went nuts after the called third strike and flashed the “Horns Down” sign right at the Texas dugout.

The win was only Texas State’s third ever against a No. 1 ranked team, so you can understand why Stivors was ecstatic.

The Big 12 has tried to crack down on “Horns Down” taunts in recent years, but it hasn’t exactly worked. We also saw a Kansas football player troll the Longhorns with it after an epic shootout last season. There’s no stopping it in big moments.
