Watch: Oral Roberts hits first CWS inside-the-park home run in 20 years

Oral Roberts' Matt Hogan did something at the College World Series on Sunday night that had not been done in more than 20 years when he hit this inside-the-park home run against the Florida Gators.

The rare feat happened with Oral Robers trailing 5-1 in the seventh inning and trying to claw its way back into the game.

Hogan hit a deep fly ball to left field that took a fortunate bounce off the wall and rolled away from two Florida outfielders, giving him an opportunity to race around the bases.

He also got a little assist when the ball was initially dropped in centerfield (though no error was called).

Hogan's is the first inside-the-park home run hit at the College World Series since Chris Burke managed one in 2001 for Tennessee.

Hogan has been one of the Golden Eagles' top hitters all season, clubbing 18 home runs with a .665 slugging percentage entering play on Sunday.

His previous 18 home runs were all of the more conventional type, sailing over the wall. But when you are trailing by four runs late in a tournament game you will take the runs any way you can get them.

Oral Roberts is the Cinderella team of this year's tournament and the lowest-seeded squad to make it to Omaha since the 2012 season. The Golden Eagles opened their trip to Omaha with a dramatic come-from-behind win against TCU to earn Sunday's matchup against Florida.

This is the Golden Eagles' first trip to the college World Series in 45 years.
