The NBA draft is on Thursday and the NBA has invited 10 players to attend the NBA draft Green room. This according to Chad Ford of ESPN. While at the draft players sit in the green room with their families and agents. The NBA only invites the players because they don’t want players waiting in the green room. The biggest names not on this list are Shabazz Muhammad and Kelly Olynyk. Two seasons ago there was 15 players invited to the draft. 14 out of the 15 were selected in the top 15 picks. 2013 NBA Draft Invites Nerlens Noel (Kentucky) Victor Oladipo (Indiana) Otto Porter (Georgetown) Alex Len (Maryland) Anthony Bennett (UNLV) Ben McLemore (Kansas) Trey Burke (Michigan) Michael Carter-Williams (Syracuse) C.J. McCollum (Lehigh) Cody Zeller (Indiana) Follow me on twitter @ScottBasketball  http://twitter.com/#!/ScottBasketballAlso like the Roundballchat site on facebook. http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/roundballchatcom/191263564258333

Did Maryland mistreat Alex Len?

Maryland's Alex Len - who is expected to be a top 10 pick in the NBA draft - recently sat down with Bill Simmons and Jalen Rose for a story at Grantland. Len underwent surgery in late April for a stress fracture in his ankle. They discussed this in the interview, and Len revealed that he had suffered from pain for over a month, and had shared that information with Maryland. ...

Alex Len, the Cleveland Cavaliers and the No. 1 pick in the NBA Draft

I received a text message weeks ago explaining just how high the Cleveland Cavaliers supposedly were on Alex Len. I dismissed this suggestion initially, assuming that Nerlens Noel would be the pick at No. 1 if the Cavs were targeting a big. During the time since, however, that opinion has been overwhelmed by the very real possibility that Len could be the named called for...

Terps Didn’t Really Do Len Dirty

Last week we linked up Grantland’s interview with Alex Len. Now an exchange contained therein is making the rounds. Here it is: Bill Simmons: “So, like the last month of the season you were playing hurt?” Alex Len: “Yeah.” Simmons: “And you knew it? Did you tell anybody?” Len: “Yeah, I told my trainers, but we treated it like a regular, like, ankle sprain. We did...

Magic Will Take Nerlens Noel If Available At No. 2

With reports of the Cleveland Cavaliers possibly taking Maryland C Alex Len with the number one overall pick, many people are wondering what this means for Kentucky C Nerlens Noel, who for the longest time has been the consensus number one overall selection. Chad Ford of ESPN is reporting that should the Cavaliers pass on Noel with the number one pick, the Orlando Magic, who possess...

All signs point to the Cavs selecting Nerlens Noel, per ESPN’s Chad Ford

Chad Ford isn’t buying into the noise. While Maryland’s Alex Len has worked his way into many conversations to be selected by the Cleveland Cavaliers with the No. 1 pick, Ford is sticking to his initial inclination that, once on the clock, Chris Grant will select Kentucky’s Nerlens Noel. In one of his latest blog entries, Ford lays out his logic as to why he feels the flat...

Are the Cavaliers on the verge of making a huge mistake?

Charlie DeBoyace/The Diamondback As the Cavaliers close in on draft night, now just two nights away, it seems options are narrowing. As they should. When you have the No. 1 pick, you have the luxury of not having to do near as much contingency planning. You control your own destiny, so as draft night approaches, you should more or less have a pretty good idea what you are going...

NBA Mock Draft, Version 4.0

My fourth look at who may go where in the 2013 NBA Draft, with input from league executives. Both rounds included. FIRST ROUND 1. Cleveland: Alex Len, 7-1, C, Maryland. Stock continues to rise and its his turn to go No. 1 in the mock. After all, seems like everyone else has had a chance. 2. Orlando: Nerlens Noel, 6-11, C, Kentucky. He can run and jump and finish and block shots...

With Thursday night’s NBA draft fast approaching, the league has invited 10 players to watch the night’s events from the green room. Those ten invitees are Nerlens Noel (Kentucky), Victor Oladipo (Indiana), Otto Porter (Georgetown), Alex Len (Maryland), Anthony Bennett (UNLV), Ben McLemore (Kansas), Trey Burke (Michigan), Michael Carter-Williams (Syracuse) — Hamilton, Mass...

Nerlens Noel, Anthony Bennett, Ben McLemore Lead Intriguing Class in Wide-Open 2013 NBA Draft

There are two types of people who talk about the NBA draft — those who say they know what will happen, and those who aren’t lying. The 2013 draft is even more of a crapshoot than most, with only some consensus on who the Cleveland Cavaliers will take first overall and virtually no consensus after that. Everybody wants to trade away their picks in what is widely considered a relatively...

Nerlens Noel, Victor Oladipo Among 10 Invited To NBA Draft Green Room

ESPN.com is reporting that Nerlens Noel, and Victor Oladipo were among 10 possible lottery selections invited by the NBA to sit in the “green room.” Those reportedly invited are: Nerlens Noel (Kentucky); Victor Oladipo (Indiana); Otto Porter(Georgetown); Alex Len (Maryland); Anthony Bennett (UNLV); Ben McLemore (Kansas); Trey Burke (Michigan); Michael Carter-Williams ...

NBA Report: Cavs stay aggressive as draft nears

A few quick notes on the most recent NBA happenings: It is now widely believed that unless the Cleveland Cavaliers receive a trade offer they cant refuse, they will select either Kentucky center Nerlens Noel or Maryland center Alex Len with the No. 1 overall draft pick. Multiple league executives have told FOX Sports Ohio that the Cavs recent attempts to trade for a veteran small...

NBA Only Has Invited 10 Prospects To 'Green Room'

The NBA has issued ten preliminary invitations for the "green room" for the 2013 NBA Draft on Thursday. The pool of prospects are determined by the NBA's conversations with general managers about likely lottery picks. Nerlens Noel (Kentucky); Victor Oladipo (Indiana); Otto Porter (Georgetown); Alex Len (Maryland); Anthony Bennett (UNLV); Ben McLemore (Kansas); Trey...

2013 NBA Mock Draft Version 2

1. Cleveland Cavaliers- C Nerlens Noel (Kentucky) Nerlens Noel is the consensus #1 pick right now in a weak draft class. He’s coming off a torn ACL, but he’s expected to make a full recovery and be ready by Christmas. As long as it’s not an issue long term, the torn ACL could actually be a blessing in disguise for the Cavaliers because it’ll increase their chances of having...

NBA Mock Draft 2.0

1. Cleveland Cavaliers: Alex Len – C/Maryland The Cavs need a big, and Len has the most upside of any center in this year’s draft. 2. Orlando Magic: Ben McLemore – SG/Kansas The Magic need scorers, and McLemore’s combination of athleticism and 3-point shooting make him the perfect fit in Orlando. 3. Washington Wizards: Otto Porter – SF/Georgetown The Wizards have a glaring...
