The time is now for Mason Plumlee. Plumlee has had the opportunity to enter the NBA Draft as a potential first round pick for the past three offseasons. Plumlee won’t have that decision to stay or go after this season and that is a big weight off of his shoulders. Plumlee has said that not having to worry about going pro or not and just listening to the coaching staff will go a long way in ensuring he and the team have a successful season.
Plumlee was really strong last year, and has gradually improved year to year. Plumlee hasn’t had the privilege of playing with a true point guard other than in the first nine games of his Sophomore campaign with Kyrie Irving. While big men like Tyler Zeller and CJ Leslie have had the luxury of receiving dishes from point guards, Mason has not. One of Mason’s biggest issues is that of consistency.
