TEAMS: Memphis Tigers
PLAYERS: Derrick Rose
We’ve already discussed some of the alleged violations committed by the Memphis program regarding Derrick Rose’s bogus SAT test. I indicted John Calipari saying that he likely knew what was going on with Rose. When the report about Rose having his high school grades changed came out, it only further confirmed my suspicion. FTA -- "Regardless, whatever doubt that may have existed regaring Calipari’s knowledge of Rose’s issues have now been eliminated."

How, exactly? The freaking NCAA Clearinghouse CLEARED ROSE TO PLAY. Apparently, they were complicit as well.

This wasn't just for conference USA, but to make deep runs into the tournament. I like Calipari back when he was with UMass before the news broke about all the stuff he was doing there. Now in Memphis, and is Kentucky next? What is the old saying? If you are not cheating you are not trying.

From Collegebasketball.com -- Calipari turned the Minutemen into a power, winning the Atlantic 10 tournament for five straight years from 1992-96. The '96 team capped reached the Final Four, losing to eventual champion Kentucky. But that season was marred by the news that Marcus Camby had accepted gifts from an attorney and aspiring player agent. The university was forced to return $151,000 in NCAA Tournament revenue (an amount that Camby repaid) and stripped of its four tournament victories. Calipari was never implicated in the controversy.
