This probably isn't the way Bill Self hoped to finish the offseason. Things had been going so well. Cole Aldrich and Sherron Collins came back to Lawrence. Tyshawn Taylor was great for the USA U19 team, leading them to a gold medal as the top scorer on the team. (He's also Mike DeCourcy's No. 9 shooting guard for this season.) But less than a month away from KU's Late Night in the Phog event to kick off the season, Taylor is injured and will miss the next three-to-four weeks.
Taylor was involved — and injured — in an incident that broke out in front of Burge Union on the KU campus shortly after 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, a source confirmed Tuesday night.
