UK's Patterson done for the season

Freshman phenom Patrick Patterson is out for the remainder of the season with a left-ankle stress fracture. And the hits for Kentucky basketball coach Billy Gillispie keep on coming. What's next for UK fans? Another Emery package busting open?

Anyway, here's a video of Patterson saying he's coming back next year... like there's much question now.

With all the bad news UK fans have suffered through this year so far, it's good to finally hear some good news for next year.

Why couldn't it have been lousy Joe Crawford who got hurt instead?!?!

OMG! LOL!

Lousy Joe Crawford? You mean the team's leading scorer?

one of the most inconsistent players out there.

um, you haven't watched much SEC play, have you? he's averaging 18 points a game since conference play started. yeah, that REAAAAAAAAAALLY inconsistent.

next time, don't base you opinions off of last year's performances.

uh, i watch a lot of sec play, and i watch crawford miss easy shots every game. get off your high horse.

here's a worthwhile comment from an entry i posted a few months back from a uk fan:

"Four years of painfully erratic SG play in a set offense, transition, and D. Selfish, uncoordinated, and inopportune are a few of the words I'd to describe the 10000+ minutes of basketball he didn't deserve to play.

The only way he could get out of my ultra-doghouse is to give us quality, efficient minutes into a miraculous tourney run. Frankly, I'd love to not despise his game so much... he's still got a shot of saving his horrible UK career."

Amen. I've never seen another highly rated McDonald's All American fail to any improve less in four years than Crawford has. I could care less about his 18ppg. As a senior he has to shoot, there aren't any other healthy bodies that can. It's his many turnovers and lack of mental toughness to finish off strong and win games in the final minutes that annoys me most. When Bradley and Crawford are finally gone, UK can get back to winning. Thanks a lot Tubby!

jesus, you guys are incredible. first, sambot uses another poster to help form your opinion. and then you just mimic, and then, like a predictable UK fan, you blame Tubby. for Bradley and Crawford. two players THE CURRENT COACH PRAISES.

but yet, he's inconsistent? no, that'd be you two. high horse? because I'm defending a player you both are blatantly wrong about?

I've watched just about every game Joe Crawford has played in a UK uniform. if, after watching him CARRY the damn team this year, you both still feel that way, stop watching basketball because you obviously don't understand what you are seeing.

i actually have no problems with bradley. i love him. i'll miss him when he's gone. crawford? not so much. i don't blame tubby for crawford, i blame crawford for crawford. another poster said it better than i could. i think he is, quite simply, a way overhyped recruit.

high horse, because "i obviously don't watch much sec basketball" and i should "stop watching basketball." just because i don't agree with you doesn't mean i don't know what i'm talking about or that i'm wrong for feeling like crawford is a chump.

ahh, the internet, where even the littlest nerd can feel big.

What's the current coach going to do? Openly rip him? I don't think that's going to happen. Believe it or not, people can have a different opinion from yours and still understand the game. Since Crawford has come to UK the team has managed to spiral downward. If you've seen all their game this year, I guess that means you saw the UNC, IU, and Vandy games too? As a senior he hasn't offered any leadership, except when he missed time this year and the team seemed to rally around the fact that he was out (like finishing off UT and beating USC without him).
Bradley has done just what he did in High School. Lose big games and take bad shots. I blame Tubby because he couldn't get anything out of either Bradley or Crawford. Maybe Gillespie has done better this year? Stop drinking the Big Blue Kool Aid and try looking at this horrible duo that came to Lexington and managed to turn our beloved Cats into a laughing stock.
Don't get me wrong, I love the Cats. I really can't wait until Meeks, Jasper, and Patterson get healthy next year. Those are 3 players who all have the "it" factor. I'm sorry to say that Crawford and Bradley didn't.

Maybe Jasper doesn't have the "it" factor after that airball he tossed up against UT.

i love that guy.

Gotta feel for Pat though. I would get in on this little '' Memory Lane'' Tour with y'all, but it will get outta control. Remember when The ''Self Proclaimed Best Pg Ever" Wayne Turner? What ever happened to that guy?! As of right now, The Best player ever to come out of Kentucky in my opinion is Tayshaun. Just because i felt his game carried over and Matured over to the pros. Jack Givens was good too.

I'm still remembering when by the way. lol!

Tayshaun or Jamal Mashburn? Personally I like Tony Delk!

You can make a case For Mash. Delk? He wasn't bad either.

that'll end the post-season run for the Wildcats.

so, does a guy who scored 35 points in his last game (after again carrying the team after Patterson went down) still = no good?

As for the coach ripping him, well, that's just what Gillispie did in the beginning of the season....
