UNC: Hansbrough to stay a 'Heel!

To the delight of Blue Heaven, and presumably Roy Williams, college basketball's reigning player of the year will have one last dance.

Tyler Hansbrough has announced that he has decided not to enter the NBA Draft.

Who cares about this dope?

Ah yes ! Spoken like a TRUE HATER! LMBO! I See you shining BOY! LOL!

you knew it was comin

Yes sir! And so did you! lol!

its cool though, I'm focusin on FSU football now

Not entering the NBA and staying in college, picking a dorm room instead of his own private mansion? What an uneducated fool!

wow!!!!This is a shock!!!!

Obviously college hasn't helped him realize that he shouldn't stay another year. He was freakin' player of the year - what more do you want? A championship? Is it worth the inevitable slide down draft boards as your game faces greater and greater scrutiny? What if he doesn't get the title? You just wasted a year?

Just wasted a year? Like college isn't the best time of your life! What more do you want? A Championship is way more worth it than entering the league one year early.

Who says he's going to win it? He hasn't done it yet with some very good teams behind him. He hasn't done it as Player of the Year. So what if he fails again - did he do it all for nothing?

From a professional standpoint, this is the year to go. Yes, it would be great to win a championship, but you're putting your entire professional career at risk. Someone drag Roy Williams out of this guy's ear.

It's called a very expensive party.

What do you suggest a 6' 10" white boy without an outside shot do?

good point

Yeah, it won't hurt him to get another year of developement in college. For some reason, I just don't see Hansbrough being a big star in the NBA. Maybe he will prove us all wrong. The rest of the ACC ain't gonna like this news.

You don't think people will take the Player of the Year in the first 20? They would. I think he's honestly hit his ceiling - he's not going to score more, he's not going to rebound more, and people will spend all year trying to poke holes in his game. If he improves, fine, but he dominates most post players in the NCAA. How do you learn by dominating weaker competition?

2008 Draft Profile - Tyler Hansbrough
He's a Big-Time prospect from a big time school. He is a real smart player that rebounds well, can play some defense, knows how to score, and is pretty good at just about everything. Hustles and works hard. The problem is, he isn't GREAT at any one thing, and doesn't have the size to or quickness to bail him out in bad matchups. Projects to be a solid rotation "glue guy" at the next level, and should bring a good attitude and professionalism to his team.
Weaknesses: Not very athletic – not super quick and not a great leaper. May have trouble defending the bigger, more athletic power forwards that the NBA possesses. May be a little short for the power forward spot in the NBA – may only be 6'8". Is a year older than other college sophomores. Needs to show that he can score outside of the paint effectively

overrated.

overrated.
