If you missed it last night, the big news were two injury updates from UNC and Virginia.  Virginia's Assane Sene has a fractured ankle and is out for at least 6 weeks.  UNC's Dexter Strickland has a torn ACL and is out for the rest of the season.

Without Sene, Virginia will turn to Akil Mitchell and Darion Atkins down low.  While both are better offensive players and athletes, neither provides the defensive presence or rebounding that Sene could.  Without Sene, can Virginia play as tight on the perimeter without a shotblocker guarding the rim?  If Mitchell and/or Atkins get in foul trouble who else helps down low?

For UNC there are two glaring holes that Dexter Strickland leaves.  Dexter Strickland was UNC's best perimeter defender and he was UNC's backup point guard while Kendall Marshall is sitting.  While some are concerned filling the backup point guard role, I'm more concerned with how UNC will be able to guard the quicker perimeter players.  Look no further than the Virginia Tech game where Erick Green finished 17 points.

Today, there are 4 ACC games.  Maryland steps out of league play for a matchup with Temple.  In conference, we have Boston College hosting Wake Forest at noon, Georgia Tech going to Clemson at 2:30, and Duke hosting FSU at 4.  Make sure to check out the previews below for game sim predictions, stats, and analysis of each of the matchups.
