If there is one thing that the ACC has been consistent about, its extreme unpredictability (or is it predictability?).  A game after Virginia completely dominates Duke in Charlottesville, they go to Boston College and give away the game late.  Sounds familiar, right?  NC State did it after a big win over Duke.  Maryland did it after a big win over Duke.  Wake Forest did it after a big win over Miami.  Predictably unpredictable. Virginia's loss to Boston College puts them near the bubble once again.  It also opens the door back up for NC State to have a shot at the 4th seed in the ACC tournament.  NC State's schedule is much easier their last few conference games, but playing at Georgia Tech has always been a struggle for the Pack.  NC State exorcised those demons on Sunday though in a 70-57 win over the Yellow Jackets. With Miami losing on Saturday night to Duke, and there was nothing predictable about Ryan Kelly's performance, and Duke adjusting to the return of Kelly, UNC may be the team playing the best right now.  North Carolina disposed of FSU rather easily on Sunday 79-58.  The ironic thing about UNC is how much they resemble recent Duke teams. No ACC action tonight, but check out the links below to catch up on this weekend's action.  Team Conf Pct Overall Pct  Miami  14-2  0.875  23-5  0.821  Duke  12-4  0.750  25-4  0.862  UNC  11-5  0.688  21-8  0.724  Virginia  10-6  0.625  20-9  0.690  NC State  9-6  0.600  20-8  0.714  Maryland  8-8  0.500  20-9  0.690  FSU  7-9  0.438  15-14  0.517  Georgia Tech  5-10  0.333  15-12  0.556  Clemson  5-11  0.313  13-15  0.464  Boston College  5-11  0.313  13-16  0.448  Wake Forest  5-11  0.313  12-16  0.429  Virginia Tech  4-12  0.250  13-16  0.448  Injury Report  Jason Morris (GT) plantar fasciitis - Feb return John Auslander (MD) left tibia fracture - out for season Links Whitey 365: The nice & the not-so-nice Whitey 365: Bennett discusses final play of surprising loss to BC Cavaliers crumble against Eagles Dual-identity U.Va. falls to lowly Boston College Duke, UNC head into postseason with high hopes With March here, UNC continues hot streak UNC routs Florida State 79-58 Pack picks up ugly win over Georgia Tech NC State grinds out 70-57 win over Georgia Tech N.C. Duke's Ryan Kelly playing vs. Miami

Duke forward Ryan Kelly was in the starting lineup on Saturday night as the third-ranked Blue Devils faced No. 5 Miami. The 6-foot-11 senior missed the past 13 games with a foot injury. He is averaging 13 points and five rebounds. Duke spokesman Jon Jackson said before the game that Kelly was set to play against the Hurricanes though it was not known whether he would start. Kelly...

Kelly returns with a performance for the ages

Credit: Duke Photography December 2, 1968.  That’s the date of the first game I ever saw in Cameron Indoor Stadium. Actually, it was Duke Indoor Stadium.  It wasn’t renamed for Eddie Cameron until 1972. I’ve seen over a thousand basketball games there, men’s games, women’s games, freshmen games, in-season tournament games, even a couple of NIT games back in 1981. I bring...

Kenny Kadji puts Duke’s Ryan Kelly on a poster with huge dunk

Ryan Kelly, meet Kenny Kadji. The Canes forward put the Blue Devils forward on a poster during Saturday night's heavy-weight, ACC showdown.

Kelly's return sparks Duke vs. Miami

Duke's Ryan Kelly sure didn't look like a guy who hadn't played in two months. The senior scored a career-high 36 points in his return from a foot injury that had sidelined him since January, helping third-ranked Duke beat fifth-ranked Miami 79-76 on Saturday night. Kelly knocked down 10 of 14 shots -- including 7 of 9 3-pointers -- for the Blue Devils (25-4, 12-4 Atlantic...

Kelly lifts No. 3 Duke past No. 5 Miami 79-76

Shane Larkin and fifth-ranked Miami stayed shot for shot with third-ranked Duke on its famously hostile home court for most of Saturday night. The Hurricanes just didn't execute well enough in the final minutes to earn a second straight win at Cameron Indoor Stadium. Larkin had a costly turnover and later missed one of Miami's desperate pair of 3-pointers for the tie on... Power 25 3/4

Let's take a look at the top teams in the nation using the Power 25 rankings. Check back every Monday for updated rankings. Duke dropped to #8 at the end of last week, but the return of Ryan Kelly and the following win over Miami moved the Blue Devils back up to #6.  Miami beat Virginia Tech and then lost to Duke and their slide down the polls now moves them out...

ACC Morning Linkfest 3/2 with Game Sim Predictions

Three ACC games on the slate today, but the big one is Duke hosting Miami.  The Blue Devils have likely had this one circled since they went to Miami and were taken to the woodshed.  There is some talk that Ryan Kelly will play tonight for Duke, which only parallels Reggie Johnson's return when the two teams playing in Coral Gables.  Game Sim likes the Blue Devils to win...

Kelly, Plumlee, Curry Enjoy Cameron Swan Song

Seniors are always the heart of a college basketball team and in an era when four-year players are a rarity, Duke enjoyed the pleasure of sending off three players in somewhat of a grand fashion. Duke’s three seniors went out like they spent most of their careers, as winners. It wasn’t always pretty but the Blue Devils took care of business putting away Virginia Tech late...

Miami proves plenty in defeat at Duke

DURHAM, NC -- Miami didn't beat Duke in Saturday's epic rematch, but the Hurricanes proved they are the best team in the ACC and are a legit threat to win the national championship. Miami is better not because of the margin differential in the team's two games against each other -- which is plus-24 for the Hurricanes -- nor are they better because they have a two-game...
