I’ve been excited about the 2012-13 version of Alex Len since he outclassed Kentucky’s bigs in the season opener, and I knew (via Draft Express and NBADraft.net) he’s shaping up to be a Lottery pick, but look at what Chad Ford wrote in today’s ESPN.com chat:
Where is Alex Len’s stock right now? Has to be climbing towards that top 7-10 range no?
Been No. 5 on our Big Board since the first week of the season. Still has an outside chance at the No. 1 pick. He’s 7-1, skilled and strong. Those guys don’t come along very often. Will be watching him very closely. There is a lot to like there.
“Still has an outside chance at the No. 1 pick.” That’s pretty impressive right there, especially when you consider Maryland hasn’t had a guy go in the top half of the Lottery since Stevie Franchise in ‘99. Lensanity!

With the college basketball season now a few weeks old, evaluating draft prospects can actually get going in earnest. Every team has played at a couple of games, most have played more. Before the season started, both Jonathan Givony of DraftExpress and Chad Ford of ESPN both had, in some order, Nerlens Noel of Kentucky, Cody Zeller of Indiana, Shabazz Muhammed of UCLA, James...
2012 marks the 14th season of the ACC/Big Ten Challenge, and after losing the event’s first 10 matchups, the Big Ten is looking to make it four straight victories this year. And while the Big Ten is widely regarded as the nation’s best conference this season, the ACC boasts three teams in the most recent AP Top 25, including Duke who has compiled the country’s best resume...
The University of Louisville men’s soccer team that heads to Maryland for Saturday night’s NCAA quarterfinal is a very different outfit both from the one that beat the Terps 4-2 in last year’s NCAA round of 16 and the one that lost 3-0 to the Terps in College Park to open this season.
The Cards started the 2012 campaign trying to find the right mix of players to replace five...
ACC/Big Ten Challenge
By Gus Elvin
Always one of the better early season college basketball events, the annual ACC/Big Ten challenge matches up the 12 teams from the ACC with the 12 teams of the Big Ten in a 2 day series for conference bragging rights. For a longtime this event was dominated by the ACC, who after winning the first 10 challenges have now dropped the last 3. The Big...
It’s once again time for the ACC/ Big Ten Challenge. This event started in 1999 and the ACC won the first 10 challenges but the Big Ten is on a roll winning the last 3 challenges. Check out my previews and predictions of NC State at Michigan and Maryland at Northwestern.
