Welcome to the first of my new series, Behind the Jersey Numbers. We'll be counting down the days until Wisconsin basketball tips off by giving you some number crunching content. I hope you enjoy the series, and join me counting down the days until Badger hoops!
With 44 days until the Wisconsin Basketball team opens up it's season at the Kohl Center against Southeastern Louisiana, today we'll look at #44, Sophomore Frank Kaminsky.
Kaminsky played in 35 of 36 games in the 2011-12 season. The only contest he didn't see the floor in was Wisconsin's' 63-60 overtime loss at the Kohl Center. Only 7 players played in that game, including starting power forward Ryan Evans, who played in all 40 minutes. If he stays healthy, Kaminsky will likely see the floor in every game this season as the Badgers' backup big man. If either Ryan Evans or center Jared Berggren miss time due to injury or anything else, Kaminsky will...

With the college basketball season on the horizon, we’ll be taking a long look at the conference at large as well as Indiana’s roster over the next few weeks. Today, we look at the Wisconsin Badgers.
Bo Ryan has built a system that wins in the Big Ten. He’s not pumping out NBA superstars, but Ryan lands middle of the pack recruiting classes, develops talent and finishes in...
MADISON, Wis. Wisconsin defensive end David Gilbert will pay a small price for critical comments he made Wednesday night concerning Nebraska quarterback Taylor Martinez.Badgers coach Bret Bielema said Thursday that Gilbert would sit out the first play of Saturday's game as a lesson for his poor word choice.Regarding Martinez, Gilbert told ESPNWisconsin.com, "it still looks...
MADISON, Wis. In football parlance, the "A" gap is the space between a team's center and its guards on the offensive line. It is among the most basic of terminologies, and for a college linebacker, understanding the difference in gaps is supposed to be second nature, as easy as pumping gas or tying a shoelace.Chris Borland insists that when he came to Wisconsin, such...
Per ESPN, Wisconsin senior running back Montee Ball will play Saturday night at Nebraska. Ball, a Heisman Trophy finalist last season, suffered a mild concussion in the first quarter of last week’s win against UTEP. He also suffered a concussion when he was attacked by a group of men Aug. 1 in downtown Madison, Wisconsin. Badgers head coach Bret Bielema said earlier this week that...
Wisconsin is in panic mode right now. It lost to Oregon State. Overhyped quarterback Danny O'Brien has been benched in favor of Joel Stave. Tailback Montee Ball is dealing with a concussion. What's the best thing that Wisconsin students can do at a time like this?
Make a pathetic "Gangnam Style" parody video, of course.
This is obvious proof Wisconsin...
When the 2012 college football schedules were released last year, Mark Daniels spotted an opportunity.
Daniels, the Director of Football for Adidas, noticed Wisconsin and Nebraska two Adidas-sponsored schools were slated to open Big Ten play for a second straight season. He figured the teams would garner a primetime television slot. He also figured it was the perfect time for...
It's not every day a highly-recruited offensive lineman from the Pacific Northwest reaches out to Wisconsin, but Tacoma (Wash.) Baptist offensive lineman Walker Williams felt no school could give him what the Badgers' program could. Badger Nation gets to know the freshman lineman a little better in our popular feature.
Chicago De La Salle (Ill.) class of 2014 offensive tackle Jamarco Jones talks about his newest offer, one from the Wisconsin Badgers.
What is Wisconsin's plan for wide receiver? Should Chris Borland play more at the end due to the injuries? What's the plan for Montee Ball, James White and Melvin Gordon? There are a lot of good football questions to be answered in this week's Badger Nation mailbag.

With Ohio State ineligible to win the Big Ten title, it’s not crazy to think Saturday’s matchup between Wisconsin and Nebraska could be a preview...
