The rumors have been flying for the past week, but it seems that they might be true. Pat Chambers, who led Boston University to the AE Championship and NCAA Tournament maybe out. He will be hired as the new head coach at Penn State (At least that is what some sources are saying)
Penn State has been looking for a coach since Ed DeChellis left to become the coach at Navy. Chambers has been coach at BU for two seasons. He would be a solid choice for Penn State, as he has strong connections in Philadelphia and the state of Pennsylvania.
Dozens of names have been floating around for the job. Duquesne's Ron Everhart and Milwaukee's Rob Jeter have both been the hot contenders for the job along with Chambers. However, they have both withdrawn from the process according to reports. That leaves only one man...Chambers.
This would be the second major coaching change for the AE this off-season. Mike Lonergan departed Vermont for George Washington (who also hired former AE Commish Patrick Nero as AD).
We will update as word becomes available.
