As a junior at Ohio's Northland High in the spring of 2009, Jared Sullinger made an impromptu visit to Thad Matta. Sullinger had committed to the Buckeyes two years earlier, and had begun forging a relationship with his soon-to-be coach. With Northland location's 20 minutes east of campus, talks between the two were common.

The Buckeyes may have a sure thing in Jared Sullinger, but plenty of questions still remain about the reigning league champs' roster. Luke Winn sizes up their chances in the Big Ten.
Ohio State head coach Thad Matta admitted two days ago that he wasn't sure if his Buckeyes were ready for its exhibition game against Walsh. Matta's Buckeyes, however, came out strong and blew out the visiting team 95-49.
After Ohio State's win over Walsh in their exhibition game, Buckeye freshman Shannon Scott was able to speak with the media for the first time. Check out what the point guard has to say about his nerves in his first game as well as living up to the fans' expectations.
A powerful ground attack that included three different players rushing for more than 100 yards allowed Ohio State to escape Saturday with a 34-20 victory over upset-minded Indiana. Boom Herron (141), Carlos Hyde (105) and Braxton Miller (105) each eclipsed the century mark on the ground for OSU.
