Mitchell Watt scored 16 points and had six blocks, including one with 2 seconds left, to help Buffalo beat Western Michigan 59-57 on Saturday. The Bulls (16-6, 9-2 Mid-American Conference) 57-56 after Mike Douglas' three-point play put Western Michigan up with 24 seconds left. Zach Filzen's jumper gave the Bulls a 58-57 lead with 12 seconds left but the Broncos had a chance to regain the lead in the last seconds. Mike Douglas then had his layup blocked by Watt. Matt Stainbrook came down with the offensive rebound and was fouled. He missed both free throws, and Dave Barnett made 1 of 2 on the other end to seal it for Buffalo. Javon McCrea added 14 points and Filzen finished with 10 for the Bulls, who won their eighth straight. Stainbrook led Western Michigan (10-15, 4-7) with 15 points and 11 rebounds.
