The Louisville men's basketball team will be visiting the White House on Tuesday, and when they do, they'll be rocking some brand new bling. On Monday, the Cardinals received their national championship rings, commemorating the team's 82-76 win over Michigan in the title game in April. And as you might expect, they are very gaudy: Louisville MBB players receiving their championship rings today, just in time for the Cards' White House visit Tues pic.twitter.com/EsFwHS2yOd -- Kenny Klein (@KKcards) July 22, 2013 Don't be fooled, though, because the rings aren't as valuable as they look. Per NCAA guidelines , student-athletes are only allowed to receive $415 worth of gifts for winning a national championship. So those diamonds? Yeah, they're not diamonds. As for the White House trip, the entire Louisville roster will be at the ceremony Tuesday in the Rose Garden, save for Russ Smith, who is taking part in a summer league overseas, and Zach Price, who transferred to Missouri this offseason. Both players will still receive their championship goodies, however.
