Chane Behanan had injured teammate Kevin Ware close in mind after Louisville defeated Duke 85-63 to reach the Final Four of the NCAA tournament Sunday. Late in the Cardinals’ win over the Blue Devils, he put on Ware’s No. 5 jersey to honor his teammate who suffered a nasty broken leg in the first half of the game. After the game, Behanan walked around on the court after the game wearing the jersey. He later took it off so that the entire team could hold it up for a team picture on the court: “The bone popped out of his skin. It broke in two spots,” Louisville coach Rick Pitino told CBS’ Tracy Wolfson after the game. “It will take a year for him to come back. He’ll come back better than ever. It’s the same injury that [former Louisville running back] Michael Bush had in football. Look at the way he’s come back.” The Cardinals did their best to win the game for their injured teammate. They played inspired ball in the second half and carried out Ware’s wishes. “The bone’s six inches out of his leg, and all he’s yelling is, ‘Win the game. Win the game,” Pitino said of Ware. “I have not seen that in my life. We’re all distraught, and all he’s saying is win the game. Pretty special young man.” Chane Behanan puts on Kevin Ware’s jersey twitter.com/SteveJones_CJ/… — Steve Jones (@SteveJones_CJ) March 31, 2013 Image via @Jose3030 Related posts: Louisville Forward Chane Behanan Says Cards Will Go Undefeated (Video) Louisville celebrates with Bill Clinton after beating Villanova (Pictures) Rick Pitino on Louisville loss: We shot free throws like Shaq and Dwight Howard
